The Prophet (saw) said: “O Allah!
I complain to You about the weakness of my strength and the lack of my ability.”
[Al-Haythami; Majma az-Zawa’id]
When afflicted by disaster it is permissible to complain
to Allah as when Prophet Yaqub (AS) said: “I only reveal my distress and sorrow to Allah.” [12, 86].
To share one’s grief and worries with Allah is not inconsistent with perseverance. But it is not permissible to complain about affliction by objecting to its nature and character.
